Nobles seigneurs, salut! – Giacomo Meyerbeer

As a Young Artist at the OperaNEO Festival 2022, Anna sings Urbain’s aria, ‘Nobles seigneurs, salut!’ (Good sirs, greetings!), from Act 1 of Les Huguenots (1836) by Giacomo Meyerbeer. Urbain possesses a letter addressed to Raoul de Nangis, a Protestant nobleman attending a party of the Catholic Count of Nevers. The message comes from an unnamed woman, inviting Raoul to a secret rendezvous. However, when he first arrives, only Urbain knows who the message is for and decides to tease all the attendants of the party.

Enfin, je suis ici – Jules Massenet

Rounding out the week of Opernfest Prague 2022, Anna Trombetta sings Cinderella’s third act aria, Enfin, je suis ici (Finally, I’m here) from the opera Cendrillon (1899) by Jules Massenet. Cinderella recounts to her Fairy Godmother how she raced through the streets, terrified, to make it home before the clock struck midnight, taking great care that no one should see her.

Conductor: Jaroslva Kyzlink The performance took place on April 10th at the Divadlo na Vinohradech in Prague, Czech Republic.

Erwartung Op. 2 No. 1 – Arnold Schoenberg

From the incredibly sensuous cycle Op. 2, composed by Arnold Schoenberg in 1899, Erwartung (Anticipation) depicts a surreal scene of a man in the forest, his reflection in the lake being illuminated by the moon, and a woman’s hand beckoning to him from a red villa nearby.

Performed as part of Anna’s Master Recital, Justice in Song, at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2021, David Bollen accompanies on the piano.
